Bio.
Nic Bezzina (b.1983)
Originally from the rural mining town of Broken Hill Australia, Nic moved to Sydney at 17 to study Special Makeup Effects. In 2002 he landed an internship in New York, creating animation puppets and special effects for Celebrity Deathmatch with the renowned Carlo Paolino Studios. Exploring his passion for music in the Big Apple’s thriving nightlife, Nic quickly realized that his true calling was behind the lens.
After returning to Oz to pursue his photography, Nic landed a residency at the Annandale Hotel which kick started his fascination with live music photography. Nic has shot over 150 bands including the likes of Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, and Slayer. Nic’s work has been published in several magazines including Rolling Stone, Spin, Blunt, Capture and Monster Children which recently awarded him first prize in the music category for his photo of British metalcore band Bring Me The Horizon.
His talent spans beyond live music and he is regularly commissioned to shoot portraits for clients including Century Venues, Independent Record Labels and Inked Australia.
Nic’s gritty and raw signature portraiture style and simple but striking visual concepts hope to attract the attention of Australia’s top creatives. He believes in capturing the moment in-camera and is interested in the relationship between raw, organic, uncontrolled moments and symmetry and control.
When he’s not shooting for clients, Nic likes to immerse himself in his personal photography projects.
Nic recently moved to London in May 2013 to pursue his career.
